Working Pensioners
Of the people receiving a state retirement pension, 19% are still economically active. CBOS wanted to know what motivated them to carry on doing paid work. The reason that was most frequently given was simply wanting to stay actively working as long as possible (44%). Less frequent reasons were liking their work (29%) or needing the money to top up their pensions (16%). Other reasons, such as being among people, only popped up sporadically.
