Yes to EU Reform, No to a Two-Speed Europe

After the Versailles meeting of leaders from Germany, France, Italy and Spain, during which they spoke out in favour of a multi-speed Europe, but before the last EU summit in Brussels, where Donald Tusk was re-elected President of the European Council, we decided to check on Polish people’s expectations concerning the future of the European Union. The short telephone poll was entrusted to Kantar Public (formerly TNS).
A decided majority of Poles (75%) agrees that the European Union needs reforming, while 15% of respondents see no need for any changes.

In the opinion of a decided majority of Poles the answer to the European Union’s problems and to the necessity for change does not lie in a two-speed Europe. Such a vision of Europe is supported by 31% of respondents, while 54% are against. Support for different rates of integration for EU countries is highest among young people 24 years of age or younger (49% in favour and 47% against).
