Social Moods Quarterly Review
To investigate social moods the CBOS uses such indicators as: an assessment of current political and economic situation, forecasts for these aspects as well as opinions on economic situation of respondents’ workplaces and quality of living in their households.
In the passing quarter assessment of private sphere has been much better than the public one. Opinions on workplace situation and respondents’ quality of living have remained on the level 0,4-0,5, however, perception of own material conditions has not changed since December while evaluation of workplace situation has steadily decreased in consecutive months. A downslide was noted also in assessment of country’s economic and political situation – from December to February opinions on those matters had been worsening, however, in March some improvement has been observed.
In the same direction but much weaker changes were observed in forecasts for the near future. Although in all areas of interest interviewees most commonly predicted no changes, in all that period hopes for improvement were higher in regards of private sphere than the public one.
The data comes from the surveys “Current Problems and Events” conducted in the last six months.
