Greater Trust in NATO, the EU and the UN
CBOS has been monitoring the level of trust in various institutions and organisations for close to twenty years.
In comparison with previous surveys, very clear gains in social trust have been made by international institutions: the European Union (up from 53% in 2018 to 73% now), the United Nations (up from 57% in 2016 to 72% now) and NATO (up from 62% in 2016 to 80% now). It is worth noting that levels of trust in NATO and the UN are at a record high. Trust in the EU is also as high as it has ever been – the highest up to now was recorded in 2008, when the same percentage of respondents as now said they trusted the EU, and a somewhat lower percentage than now said they did not.

The above data comes from ‘Current Events and Problems’ surveys carried out in the period 2002–2020.
