Election Code contains a number of solutions facilitating voting, including alternative voting methods outside the polling station. Unfortunately the Poles know very little about it.

In the forthcoming presidential election for the first time every voter will have the right to vote by post. However, only 15% of the Poles are aware of it. The majority of interviewees (61%) don’t know about such a possibility and the rest chose wrong answers.

Disabled voters and the elderly (over 75 years old) can choose to vote by proxy. It has been already available under the same conditions for several years, however, only 22% of interviewees have full knowledge on who is entitled to it. The same number of interviewees chose only partly correct answers. Majority (54%) don’t know who can vote by proxy. Only one in five interviewees over 75 years of age is aware of this possibility.
