How Poles Feel about Americans
The 4th of July is Independence Day in the USA. To mark this occasion we present the attitudes of Polish people to Americans.
Although feelings towards Americans are not as warm as they were in the 1990s and the beginning of the 2000s, the attitude of Poles to Americans continues to be largely positive.
Almost a half of the Poles asked say they like Americans, about a third are indifferent and one in six say they dislike them. When compared to the liking that Polish people declare for other nations, Americans are currently in the top six of the 27 nationalities considered (Czechs – liked by 50%, Italians – 49%, Slovaks – 48%, the English – 47%, Americans and the Spanish – 46% each).
The above data comes from ‘Current Events and Problems’ surveys.
