To investigate social moods the CBOS uses indicators such as: assessment of current political and economic situation, forecasts for these aspects as well as opinions on economic situation of respondents’ workplaces and quality of living in their households. In order to illustrate the dynamism of changes quarterly balances are presented against a background of the previous months.

In the third quarter assessment of country’s political situation remains stable but low. Evaluation of economic situation has slightly improved, however, critical opinions on that issue still dominates. The beginning of holidays brought some improvement of opinion on situation in workplaces, however, in September the opposite trend was recorded. In the last few months increase in number of interviewees satisfied with their material conditions was noted.

In the third quarter, especially the last month, forecasts for Poland’s economic situation and interviewees’ workplace situation in a coming year improved. Forecasts for political situation and material conditions of respondents’ households has not changed significantly.
